While there is a vibrant Irish culture in Scotland—supported and sustained by the excellent work of GAA Scotland, Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Eireann, Conradh na Gaeilge and other groups—there was no specific advocacy group which engaged with the Scottish state to defend and enhance the rights of our community.
In 2018, Call It Out formed to be that advocate. We have spent the last seven years highlighting prejudice, challenging stereotypes, and interacting with the Scottish government at all levels as an effective representation of the Irish diaspora.
